Vascular supply of interventricular septum of human heart.

Despite the numerous investigations into the blood supply of the ventricles of the human heart, little attention has been paid to the finer details of the vascular pattern of the arteries of the interventricular septum. In view of the importance of the effects of any deficiency in the blood supply to the septum, a comparison was made of the normal and diseased vascular patterns seen in the interventricular septum and in the free walls of the left and right ventricles. The present paper reports the results of an investigation in which hearts were examiined by postmortem injection and microradiographic and histological techniques.
